The Jaw Dropping Level

Honor is attaching high value to another. Honor is considering another very important. When we honor someone we are saying. “You are worth my time and energy!”

Ephesians 6:

1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

This verse does not come with an attachment of, “If you think you might want to Honor your Father and your Mother.” This is a commandment from God himself.

I can’t help but believe, that the moral break down we are experiencing in our society today begins with our attitudes towards our Fathers and Mothers!

Our success, and increase, what happens to us is determined a great deal with what and how we value our parents.

Of all Ten Commandments that God gave, the only one that had a promise attached to it was,

Exodus 20:12

12 Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

When you Honor you are attaching a high value!

The dropping of the jaw signifies honor. God wants your Father and your Mother placed at the JAW DROPPING LEVEL in your life!

But Preacher, I can’t honor my Father. You don’t know what he has done! He has done so much that I can never honor him.

Tell God! You can’t honor your father, see what He says.

Honor is used as a verb. And here it means action and the action is coming from the actor. The performer is not the one being honored.

Honor is not what or how I think about me. But honor is how I think and conduct myself towards someone else.

Over and over again, God told the children of Israel, I have given you the land, I have made provisions for you. However, if you desire to live in the blessings I have given unto you, here is the key. The length of your days will be determined by how you Honor your father and your mother:

God said, If you will honor your parents, I will bless you with long life and security,

Deuteronomy chapter 5

16 Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Success or failure is greatly determined by how you honor your Father and Mother! Make sure your Father and Mother are placed at the JAW DROPPING LEVEL in your life!
