Stay Focused

The Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills met in 1993 to play the Super bowl. Before the game Coach Jimmy Johnson gave this pep talk to his players.

He said, “I could lay a 2 X 4 here on the floor and everyone could walk across it and not fall, because our focus would be that we were going to walk that 2 X 4!

But, if I were to take it and put it ten stories high between two buildings only a few would make it. Because the focus would be on falling.

Johnson told his team not to focus on the crowd, the news media or the possibility of losing, but to focus on each play of the game itself, as if it were a good practice session.

The Cowboys went on to win by a score of 52 to 17. It was a blow out!

The secret to this story is that most of us tend to lose our focus because we are worried about to many negative possibilities.

Rather than focusing on the 2 X 4, we worry about all the things that might happen. We are distracted because of our worries and our fears.

Focus on your vision. Focus on being blessed, so you can be a blessing. Focus on being a happy and excited Christian and it will happen. Focus on what you want and it will come in life.

IMAGINE THIS

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Bill Gates of Microsoft said, “Our company has one asset and it is “Human imagination.” He said, “If you took all of Microsoft’s’ buildings and real estate, offices and hardware, physical assets, anything you could touch, take it all away from the company, where would it be? He said “Almost exactly where it is right now.”

Because in today’s world a company’s value is in its thinking not its possessions. The success of a church or its people is not determined by the size of the building! Neither is your success determined by the material things you have to show.

This is why some teenagers today are making $70,000 to $100,000 a year because, it is the way they think!

Recently a major company was paying a certain company thousands of dollars to host and build their web site on the Internet. However, they were extremely pleased with the product so much, that they wanted to learn more about who was actually doing it.

Were they ever surprised when they learned the developer was a 12 year old boy working out of his bedroom in his parents house.
