Creation & Reaction

Genesis 1:26 ~ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

I want to seed your thinking with these two words.

Reaction is responding to something that is or has already happened, while Creation is making something happen!

So many of us really try to do better, but never see any results, because we spend much of our time and energy trying to get to the next level responding to influences at our present level.

To some life has become like the steel ball found in a pinball machine. Everyday we get shot out on the floor of life, only to roll between bumpers and get hit by the flippers, never going anywhere except around and around.

Someone comes by and feeds the machine another quarter and out of the shoot we go, bumping the same bumpers and getting slapped by the same flippers.

Oh we make a great deal of noise and ring a lot of bells but nothing ever really changes.

We spend entire days reacting, and we are not even aware of it.

We wake up reacting to the news on the alarm clock radio. We react to our feelings in our body, arthritis and stiffness. Then we start reacting to our spouse or our children. Soon we get in the car reacting to traffic, honking the horn, responding to other people in traffic who by hand gestures, tell us we are number one.

Then at work we respond to memos, customers and insensitive bosses, who are responding to God only knows what.

Finally, at lunch we respond to a waitress who is having a bad day.

But, there is another way to live!!

Instead of reacting it’s called CREATING.

It involves making choices and following plans. It involves choosing to create!

When we don’t plan to do something or go somewhere, we make a choice to react to whatever comes our way. We become willing to be a victim of circumstances!

Choose to be like your Father, “CREATIVE!”

We are made in His image, created in His likeness. God is Creator, not reactor!

We can walk into a room of our children and what once was in order has now become so disarrayed! And we have no problem yelling at them and saying, “You sure have created a mess!!

Well If we can create a mess, we can create something good and worth while.

Jesus said in St. John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Philippians 4:13 ~ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Become like your Father and get Creative!
