"Broken Heart"

A Message By Pastor Arthur Ward

Proverbs chapter 13 and verse 12, says,

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Often after failure we hear someone say, Well, my heart just wasn’t in it!

There are some that will get a paycheck every week and wonder why they never get a raise or promotion. Many times it’s simply because their heart is not in it!

I could have done better, but my heart just wasn’t in it. Simply stated I tried, but I didn’t give my best! I wasn’t fully committed!

There are some things that will never work out, never turn out good unless your heart is in it!

I hate to be the barer of bad news, however, today I declare unto you, you’re not going to have a wonderful and blessed marriage unless your heart is it!

Your family will never know real love unless your heart is in it!

You’re not going to appreciate the call of God on your life and enjoy the fullness of God, unless your heart is in it!

You’ll never stay long enough in one church to be used of God, unless your heart is in it!

You are not even saved unless you’ve put your heart in it! You can sing, "Come into my heart" until you turn blue in the face, but the moment you put your heart in it, is the moment Jesus comes in to live!

Romans 10 and 9,,, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

The reason some are experiencing failure after failure in marriage and in business is simply because they are so much like the ones Jesus was talking to in Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Someone said, "That’s the very reason I don’t get involved is because I don’t want to get hurt again"!

Well, you can stay all cooped up in your fraidy box if you want to, but Mama said, "nothing ventured, nothing gained"!

Some may never know what it is to have a broken heart because before your heart can be broken you must give it away! You must be willing to invest!

And then there are those whose hearts are in a million pieces, simply because they’ve given it away so many times and today they lie shipped wrecked. Today they don’t know whom to trust. They don’t know how to pick up the pieces and put them back together again. They’ve loved and lost. Trusted and have been betrayed.

Oh, but have I got good news for you today!!!

Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

If you have a broken heart, you can rest assured that the Lord is close at hand!

Proverbs chapter 13 and verse 12,

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

To hope means to wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment. To look forward with confidence, or to trust. To expect and desire, even joyful expectation.

Hearts will break. Hearts can be broken! There is nothing so painful as a Broken Heart! But don’t lose hope!

Hope may be deferred. Your expectation may be slow in coming. It may seem as though that, which you’ve dreamed about, talked about, longed for, is now shattered into pieces. Oh, but let me remind you, He can take the broken pieces and put them back together again!

When God makes a promise, when God gives you a word, it is not a matter of if it happens, It’s just when it happens!!

Joseph had a hope, but hope was deferred when he was thrown in the pit. Hope was deferred when he was sold into slavery. Hope was deferred later when he was thrown into prison. But the day came when he saw his dream come to pass, as He was made governor over all of Egypt.

But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life, Proverbs 13:12b,

Someone said don’t get your hopes up! Some will never experience the tree of life because they are afraid to get their hopes up! They will never smell the beautiful fragrance of its blossoms because they are afraid to get their hopes up.

Mother, you get your hopes up for your family. Preacher, get your hopes for your ministry. Family provider, get your hopes up for your promotion on your job.

Sure something may happen and it may break your heart, make your heart sick, but God hasn’t forgotten you! Hope may be deferred, but the desire is coming. It’s on the way! Don’t give up! I mean it will be like a tree of life. Your hope and dream will blossom with new life.

It may look bleak right now. Perhaps you thought it was suppose to have already happened. But, don’t give up, your desire is on the way!!

Mark 11:24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
